Born and raised in Blacksburg SC, I lived the typical life of a small town boy. Seeking to find fulfillment and hope through various means with nothing truly being able to satisfy the inner void. In 1992 God saved me, using the prayers of my mother, and the radio ministry (A New Beginning) of Pastor Greg Laurie, Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside CA. From that time forward it has been a growing and learning process, which continues today. It is a daily walk with my precious Jesus. I’ve been blessed to set under some wonderful Bible teachers, and have godly mentors in my life. God has used various people and circumstances to prepare me for the ministry which He has called me to.
July of 2003 I took over a small group of believers and started teaching through books of the Bible, casting vision, and giving some leadership. The first two and a half years were a time of transition. All that culminated in the beginning of 2006 with what was really the start of Harvest Chapel, and affiliation with Calvary Chapel.
I’m sold on expository teaching, which means explaining the meaning of a Bible passage and allowing the Scripture itself to shape the sermon. I like to teach verse by verse through books of the Bible emphasizing the precise exposition of the passage, and always have a strong practical approach with life change, and a deeper knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ as the goal. I’m blessed to have such a great bunch of people to do life with. It’s my privilege to have the opportunity to teach God’s Word, love His people, and listen to Him for guidance and direction to do His Will, His Way, in His Church. What a life!
June of 2000 the Lord allowed me the most wonderful honor of my entire life, to become the husband of the most beautiful and loving woman in the whole world, my wife Heidi. She is from Rossford Ohio, just outside Toledo. Then in September of 2005, the Lord allowed me the second greatest honor of my life when our son, Daniel James was born.
